2026 Fo Guang Shan International Ten-thousand Buddha Triple Platform Full Ordination Ceremony

Objective

To transmit the Buddha's precepts, enabling full ordination and strict observance, fostering disciplined conduct, and elevating Sangha quality through robust practical and ceremonial education.

Characteristics

1. Precept Teachers:
Eminent monastic elders from Taiwan and abroad are respectfully invited to serve as precept masters, transmitting the teachings of the sutras and vinaya.

2. Precept Platform:
The only platform in Taiwan exclusively for transmitting precepts—ensuring the most rigorous and structured daily precepts routine.

3. Precept Curriculum:
A program of courses that value both understanding and practice.

Eligibility

Monastic Precepts: Buddhist disciples who vow to dedicate their entire lives to the monastic path, uphold the precepts, and study under a recognized master. Candidates must be fully endowed with the six faculties and possess right view and proper faith. (Ages 20 to 60)

Ordination Period

April 16, 2026 to May 11, 2026 (Corresponding to the 29th day of the 2nd lunar month to the 25th day of the 3rd lunar month)

Location

Fo Guang Shan Monastery, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, R.O.C.

Fees

1. All expenses for receiving the monastic precepts are fully waived.
2. Precept robes (kasayas), alms-bowl, sitting-mat (nisidana), meals, and accommodation are sponsored by Dharma supporters of Fo Guang Shan Monastery.
3. Preceptees are responsible for supplying their own black chanting robe (haiqing), arhat shoes, and other daily necessities.

1. Period: From now until October 31, 2025
2. Locations: Fo Guang Shan Headquarters and Branch Temples

Application Requirements

1. Complete a registration form (available by mail request or online download).
2. One photocopy of your identification (ID card or passport).
3. Two recent 2-inch half-body, front-facing photographs.

4. A letter of consent from your master endorsing your receipt of the precepts.
5. Provide a health examination certificate issued by a public hospital.
6. Upon successful review of your application, a notification form will be issued to establish further contact.
